The project involves demolishing the four existing buildings (shelter, multi-purpose hall, sanitary facilities, and community rooms), in order to construct a new building with a relatively similar programme, but better suited in terms of comfort (particularly thermal) and use (in consultation with the local associations).
Our intention is to prioritise the use of bio-sourced materials, preferably local ones, and if possible partly recovered from the demolition of the existing building. This project to demolish and construct a community building in Chevillon is an opportunity to deliver an environmentally responsible and emblematic project for the municipality, one that meets the new needs of local associations.
The structure of the buildings and the joinery are made of timber. The community rooms are insulated with wood wool, while the multi-purpose hall is insulated with straw.
